New Coaches at Tintern - Opens Easter

Rubirail has just completed one of its most enjoyable (and different) projects.

Tintern Station View

Rubirail were tasked with the procurement and external refurbishment of two replacement coaches for the preserved Old Station at Tintern which is owned and managed by Monmouthshire County Council.  Our client for the project was  the Overlooking the Wye Scheme which is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and managed through the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Partnership.

The new coaches were moved into place in early December (exactly to plan) and have been receiving internal fit out since th

en.  They open for business on the 27th March and the coaches will include tourist information and the “Destination Wye Valley” exhibition.  If you are down near Tintern – in the beautiful Wye Valley please call in at the Old Station and see the coaches in their new home, we think they look great!

The tea-room in the Old Station buildings is fantastic with real cakes and merits a visit in its own right; once you are there, you can enjoy a very pleasant short circular walk taking in the old railway track and the river bank.
